Daphne Roubini is a jazz vocalist, songwriter, and podcast host whose work blends mid-century influences with a modern emotional sensibility. Originally from London, England, and now based in Vancouver, Canada, her music moves between jazz and folk traditions, shaped by years spent performing, teaching, building creative communities, and travelling between cities that continue to inspire her—especially New York City, Buenos Aires, London, and Cortes Island.

She is the founder and front woman of Black Gardenia, a Vancouver-based ensemble known for its intimate, cinematic sound and timeless approach to jazz. Her latest album, Whisky Scented Kisses, released in April 2026 on the Cellar Live label, has introduced her work to a growing international audience through radio airplay, editorial playlists, and press coverage across Canada, Europe, and the US. Daphne was also selected as a Spotlight Artist for the Vancouver International Jazz Festival.

Alongside her work as a performer, recording artist, and educator, Daphne founded Ruby's Ukes, which grew into the largest ukulele school outside of Hawaii, and launched the Vancouver Ukulele Festival, bringing acclaimed international artists to Canada. After more than a decade of building musical community through education and performance, she chose to close both ventures to focus more fully on her own creative projects, including Black Gardenia and Like a Pearl, a podcast exploring creativity, artistry, and the many ways people build creative lives.

Earlier in her career, Daphne worked in the healing arts and authored two books on massage and wellbeing. That grounding in presence, intuition, and human connection continues to inform her approach to music, storytelling, and conversation.
